Bernie Project

The Bernie Project (http://www.thebernieproject.org//) is an innovative project that seeks to positively impact the lives of vulnerable children in Uganda through nutritional and educational initiatives.  April Gulley directs The Bernie Project. She has years of experience a in the public relations industry and has felt the call to serve the people of Uganda upon meeting a child, Bernie, in Uganda who changed her life.

The Bernie Project’s initial focus is raising funds to support the feeding program at the Wakiso School of Hope (WSH). The Bernie Project will also work with partners to ensure that age appropriate hygiene supplies will be provided for all children at the Wakiso School of Hope. The Bernie Project will also cover the school fees of children who are currently not being sponsored by the other churches that support the school. As the project is developed she will seek to create a sustainable farming program, along with one or two vocational programs that will give the children who don’t move onto secondary school or university an opportunity to learn a trade that will helpthem succeed in life.
