Masindi Community Foundation Project

Masindi Community Foundation, MCF, (http://www.mcfuganda.org/) is a nonprofit organization created by the communities of Masindi district in the year 2011 to nurture and strengthen community philanthropy so as to build social capital for promoting and facilitating asset based development as an approach that enables local citizens establish and manage sustainable social enterprises capable of improving their livelihoods and helping them achieve poverty relief.

The project aims to lift 3,000 of the most vulnerable rural people in the Masindi District of Uganda out of extreme poverty through effective engagement with social enterprises. After the three years, we expect monthly income for each of the 3,000 beneficiaries to have increased by at least 75%. The project employs an asset based methodology to social enterprise development, drawing on the extensive local knowledge of MCF.

Visions Made Viable provides Masindi Community Foundation with fiscal sponsorship and administrative support to assist them with them realize their vision more completely.
