Russian Orphan Lighthouse Fund
The Russian Orphan Lighthouse Fund raises monies to facilitate the adoption of Russian orphans. The fund will support the work of the Russian Orphan Lighthouse Project (http://www.lhproject.com/) by helping underwrite humanitarian aid, educational projects including travel to the U.S. for orphans living in Russian orphanages, travel fees for adoptive families seeking to adopt Russian orphans, and medical and other essential supplies for Russian orphanages.
Lisa Smith, the founder and director of both the Russian Orphan Lighthouse Project as well as the Russian Orphan Lighthouse Fund, has been a leader in facilitating the adoption of Russian ophans for almost 20 years. She has extensive contacts and networks in both the United States and in Russia, where she lived for many years. Lisa started the Russian Orphan Lighthouse Project in 1998, and her years of successful adoption facilitation (over 1,500 adoptions) have given her a very clear idea of the needs of both Russian orphans and potential adoptive families. She came to us with the idea to start the Russian Orphan Lighthouse Fund in order to better serve Russian orphans and orphanages, but also to make adoption possible for many American families who would provide great homes for adoptees but who might not be able to afford the very high cost--often over $20,000 (US) to adopt.
We're delighted to provide fiscal sponsorship, administrative support and consulting to Lisa and her team.
