IRM (India)
IRM (Inland Revival Mission) is a holistic, indigenous Christian ministry serving the rural poor in Tamil Nadu State, India. IRM staff work directly with a network of poor rural pastors in the villages of southern India in order to grow and strenghten local congregations, carry out leadership training aimed at empowering the local poor, provide appropriate vocational training aimed at increasing economic development, and offer relief services such as food distribution during droughts and natural catastrophes. In addition, IRM operates an orphanage in Chennai, the capital of Tamil Nadu.
Visions Made Viable serves as the ongoing long term fiscal sponsor in the U.S. for IRM, thus allowing IRM to seek grants from U.S. based foundations and tax deductible contributions from U.S. citizens. We also consult with IRM staff on their grant writing and fund raising efforts in the U.S.
