Academy of Mastery

Academy of Mastery works with high schools, community colleges and other institutions to teach young people about financial literacy, entrepreneurship, the realities of the business world, and character development. The board and staff of AM focus their work among low income urban folks in Connecticut and combine a variety of teaching methods with an emphasis on experiential learning.

Academy of Mastery is an experienced group of business people and educators committed to developing an innovative approach to education that helps people into 'life long economic self sufficiency and independence.' AM staff have been running a successful beta version of the project for the last few years and plan to expand it throughout Connecticut--and eventually--around the country through an online version.

Visions Made Viable served AM with short term fiscal sponsorship, administrative support, and consulting aimed at helping Academy of Mastery become an independent nonprofit dedicated to taking poverty on at its roots. Academy of Mastery received their 501(c)3 status in March of 2010 and are now a fully independent nonprofit organization. We couldn't be more pleased to have made a contribution to their success.
